Biographical Info

Robert S. Wong, M.D. is Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Assistant Attending Anesthesiologist at New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Prior to joining Weill Cornell, Dr. Wong was a cardiothoracic anesthesiologist at Scripps Hospital of San Diego. He completed his postdoctoral training in Los Angeles—he did his Internship in Medicine at the Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and his Residency in Anesthesiology at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center David Geffen School of Medicine. Upon completion of his training, he continued at UCLA as an attending anesthesiologist specializing in pediatric cardiac anesthesia. In San Diego, Dr. Wong was instrumental as the principal anesthesiologist in helping develop a successful minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgery program using the Port Access System and the Da Vinci Robot. Additionally, he was a clinical instructor for senior Navy anesthesia residents seeking advanced training in cardiothoracic anesthesia. Dr. Wong earned his M.D. at the Emory University School of Medicine and a B.S. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is board-certified in advanced perioperative transesophageal echocardiography.
